Eleonora De Boni nasce nel 1985 in provincia di Vicenza, tra donne che cuciono, ricamano, lavorano a maglia e all’uncinetto trasformando tessuti e filati in semplici creazioni da indossare. Le sembravano magie, che vedeva compiersi mentre lei era immersa nei suoi disegni, tra i suoi libri di fiabe e gli albi da colorare, mentre guardava i cartoni animati e sognava il Giappone.

Un Istituto Superiore di Moda e poi l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia le hanno aperto un mondo fatto di stoffe che si trasformano e colori che si mescolano in una sorta di alchimia profonda, perfetta. Dopo anni trascorsi a lavorare come stilista, ora racconta la storia della moda e del costume attraverso la sua arte. Perchè la moda ed il costume non sono solo effimera bellezza, non soddisfano soltanto il mero bisogno di coprirsi, di identificarsi, di trasmettere un’idea. La moda ha la straordinaria capacità di toccare corde profonde, un kintsugi dell’anima.
Eleonora De Boni was born in 1985 near Vicenza, among women who sewed, embroidered, knitted, and crocheted, transforming fabrics and yarns into simple wearable creations. It seemed like magic to her, one that she watched unfold while she was immersed in her drawings, her storybooks and coloring books, watching cartoons, and dreaming about Japan.
“I was always drawing; everywhere in the house there were sketches created with the Fashion Spinner, scraps of fabric, buttons, trimmings, and the first attempts at sewing Barbie’s clothes.”
A Higher Institute of Fashion and then the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice opened up to her a world of transforming fabrics and colors that blend in a sort of profound, perfect alchemy. After years spent working as a fashion designer, now she talk about fashion and costume history through her art. Because fashion and costume are not just ephemeral beauty; they do more than satisfy the mere need to cover oneself, to identify oneself, to convey an idea. Fashion has the extraordinary ability to touch deep chords, a kintsugi of the soul.
